Troubleshooting
Fixing Failed PDF Processing
Most PDF tasks finish smoothly, but failures can happen when a file is damaged, too large, password protected, unsupported, or interrupted by a network problem.
Use this guide when an upload fails, a conversion does not complete, a repair does not work, or the browser seems stuck after you click a tool button.
Start with a quick retry
- 1Refresh the page.
- 2Upload the file again.
- 3Wait for the upload to finish before clicking process.
- 4Try a smaller test file to confirm the tool is working.
- 5If the same file fails again, move through the checks below.
Upload failed
Upload failures are usually connection or file-type problems. Check that the file extension matches the tool. If the file is on cloud storage, download it locally first and upload the local copy.
Conversion failed
Conversion may fail when the file contains damaged pages, unusual fonts, complex layers, password restrictions, or scans without OCR. If you are converting a scanned PDF to Word, run OCR first.
Repair failed
Repair tools can rebuild many damaged PDFs, but not every file can be recovered. If the PDF is incomplete, zero bytes, or missing important internal data, repair may not be possible.
Browser cache and extensions
- Open iZipPDF in a private window.
- Disable ad blockers or strict privacy extensions temporarily.
- Clear cached site data for iZipPDF.
- Update your browser to the latest version.
- Try another modern browser such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox.
Network problems and file corruption
Large PDFs need a stable connection. If your connection drops during upload, the server may receive only part of the file. Try again on Wi-Fi, avoid VPN changes during upload, and keep the tab open until processing finishes.
To check corruption, open the file locally before uploading. If your computer cannot open it, try Repair PDF or ask the sender for a fresh copy.
